Oberhausen - Emmerich railway line: Railway extends full closure by one day

Deutsche Bahn is extending the full closure of the line between Oberhausen, Niederrhein and Arnhem by one day: instead of 24 November as planned, the closure will now end on Monday, 25 November.

News on the lockdown

On Monday, 25 November, the route will remain fully closed until the evening hours. This is due to irregularities in the construction process. The affected trains will continue to be replaced by buses in rail replacement services on this day.

From Tuesday 26 November up to and including Saturday 14 December, there will be the following changes:

  • RE 5 and RE 49: Buses will be used throughout instead of trains. The buses will stop at the Voerde-Friedrichsfeld stop and the temporary Voerde-Friedrichsfeld "Am Industriepark" stop, among others
  • RE 19: During the week, there is a scheduled train service between Oberhausen and Arnhem and between Wesel and Bocholt. The stop in Voerde-Friedrichsfeld is cancelled. At weekends, buses will also be used as rail replacement services, as already announced.

Due to these changes, the temporary stop in Voerde-Friedrichsfeld can only be served by trains from Sunday, 15 December.
