Declaration on accessibility

Declaration on accessibility

Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr endeavours to make its websites accessible without barriers in accordance with the national legal provisions for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and the relevant European harmonised standard EN 301 549, the Disability Equality Act NRW (BGG NRW) and the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance NRW (BITV NRW).

This declaration on accessibility (status: 01 August 2023) applies to the VRR website currently accessible at www.vrr.de as well as all domains still belonging to it.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

A development-accompanying BITV test was carried out for the website www.vrr.de. All pages whose content can be edited in the content management system were checked editorially for the criteria formulated by the test centre and adapted. Nevertheless, not all contents of the website meet the requirements of BITV 2.0.

Thus, the website www.vrr.de is currently only partially compatible with the technical requirements according to BITV NRW.

Non-accessible contents

The contents listed below are not barrier-free for the following reasons:

Incompatibility with BITV NRW:

  • SPNV quality monitor
  • Partial detailed views of the disruption reports
  • Partial functions of the timetable information (except widget start page)
  • partially contact form
  • Service chat NRW
  • Furthermore, all PDF documents are not barrier-free, except for those that are marked as barrier-free.

The following points are currently being worked on or created:

  • Easy language page
  • Information in sign language
  • on-page search
  • some pages with jump mark navigation (ticket overview)
  • Partial graphics and diagrams in older magazine articles
  • Audio description of videos

VRR is endeavouring to implement the missing content as quickly as possible and asks for patience for the implementation of the content that is not yet barrier-free, as VRR is partially dependent on the cooperation of third-party providers for the areas listed above.

Creation of this Accessibility Statement

This statement was created on 01 August 2023 and checked at the same time.
