Roof renovation at Duisburg main station leads to restrictions on train services
Due to the construction work around the roof of Duisburg Central Station, there will be restrictions on train services during the closure of tracks 5 to 9. From Monday, 5 August, until the end of this construction phase (expected October 2025), there will be the following restrictions on the lines:

RE 44 (Fossa-Emscher-Express):
- cancellation between Moers and Duisburg Hbf
RB 31 (Der Niederrheiner):
- Changed journey times for most journeys
RB 33 (Rhein-Niers-Bahn):
- Cancellation between Duisburg Hbf and Essen-Steele
RB 35 (Emscher-Niederrhein-Bahn):
- Cancellation between Duisburg-Hochfeld Süd and Oberhausen Hbf (with the exception of individual journeys in the morning and evening)
S 1:
- Mondays to Fridays during the day, the line between Duisburg Hbf and Düsseldorf-Unterrath only runs every 20/40 minutes (cancellation of one journey per hour)
There will be track changes at Duisburg Hbf on many lines, two trains may be standing on track 1 at times.

The timetable changes are included in the VRR and DB online timetable information before the start of the construction work.
Tickets are not available on the buses. Tickets for buses and trains can be purchased online via the app or at the stations (not at the bus stops) from the ticket machines or in the customer centres.
