Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr endeavours to make its websites accessible in accordance with the national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and the relevant harmonised European standard EN 301 549, the Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz NRW (BGG NRW) and the Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik Verordnung NRW (BITV NRW).

This declaration on accessibility (as of 1 August 2023) applies to the VRR website currently available at www.vrr.de and all associated domains.

Status of compatibility with the requirements

A development-related BITV test was carried out by Deutsche Telekom MMS GmbH for the www.vrr.de website. All pages whose content can be edited in the content management system were editorially checked and adapted to the criteria formulated by the test centre. Nevertheless, not all content on the website fulfils the requirements of the BGG NRW and the BITV NRW.

This means that the website www.vrr.de is currently only partially compatible with the technical requirements of the BITV NRW.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

Incompatibility with the BITV NRW:

• SPNV quality monitor
• Partial detailed views of fault reports
• Partial functions of the timetable information (except widget start page)
• Partial contact form
• NRW service chat
• Furthermore, all PDF documents are not barrier-free, except for those that are labelled as barrier-free.

The following points are currently being processed or created:

• Information in sign language
• Internal page search
• some pages with jump mark navigation (ticket overview, microsite investment projects)
• Some graphics and diagrams in older magazine articles
• Audio description of videos

VRR is endeavouring to implement the missing content as quickly as possible and asks for patience due to the large amount of content for the implementation of the content that is not yet accessible, as VRR is partly dependent on the cooperation of third-party providers in the areas listed above.
